"February Red" soft hackle.
A pattern I found in Dave Hughes book Wet Flies.
A simple pattern with a history of taking trout.
The pattern calls for silk thread for the body, hares dub for the thorax, and a grouse feather for the hackle.
The top fly is tied with traditional silk thread and the bottom is tied with cotton thread.

A Couple of mean Fish Fetchers there. I Think the top fly has more sheen to the body. Neat Tie.

Nice ties! I tye a similar pattern only with peacock herl for the thorax. Great fish catchers!
