Tenkara is the antithesis of this and yet it may very well be the same but I don't think so...

I have a small 4 compartment wooden fly box with about 4 patterns, a rod and a line. That would be what I use to fish.

My skill set is quite different, it was honed using such graphing, observations and energy but in the end, my fishing is quite simple. I can teach it to a child or a woman very quickly. They will have learned so many years of fishing in just a few minutes. I do not know why fishing has to be so difficult, it is not.

I use this everywhere. Different mountain streams around the US and abroad.

And I've yet to have a problem with the restriction what some people call it but I call it freedom. No more over thinking fishing.

Freedom.

I don't think my way is better than anyone, it's just my way and I learned it from people I had no idea that were such good anglers. They did not have technical advantages, they had mouths to feed, they did it out of necessity to sustain. In that, all the extra, nonproductive aspects were not added in and all you have is catching.
