The rod is an 8' 2/2 Para 15 taper, made for me by Mike Shay. It has hung in my dark closet in its bag basically since I got it about four years ago. The reel seat is olive wood from Gethsemane. The only label personalization is that is says "Matthew 4:19, Fly Fisher of Men" on it. Since it has been hanging in the bag, I seem to have lost the tube cap. It's a terrific rod, I just rarely have the ability to use it - I suspect it's been out about a half a dozen times, if that. A rod like this would cost you $1200-1300 from Mike these days, with a substantial wait.
I have used a triangle taper 5wt on it, and it's a terrific rod. It needs to find a home where someone will use it.
