RARE Antique Chinese Qing Dynasty Silver Chatelaine Needle Case with Agate Bead

This beautiful antique Chinese needle case dates from the late Qing Dynasty to the early Republic period (late 19th to early 20th century).

Originally designed to hang from a traditional waist chatelaine or belt hook, the piece features an intricate, urn-shaped vessel adorned with detailed, hand-worked repoussé motifs. It suspends gracefully from a matching silver-toned chain connected to a figural top clip.

The base of the vessel is accented with a beautiful, translucent orange carnelian agate bead. This functional piece of personal jewelry historically served to safely store delicate sewing needles or small aromatics. It makes an exceptional addition to any collection of antique Chinese silver, sewing ephemera, or unique historic jewelry.

• Material: Silver alloy / Chinese export silver, carnelian agate gemstone bead

• Period: Late Qing Dynasty / Early Republic Period

• Design: Urn/vase form container with figural suspension clip and repoussé detailing

• Condition: Beautiful vintage patina, intact chain and decorative gemstone accent
