Vintage Sunset River Scene Landscape 2 Men Fishing Painted Carved Frame:
$125.00

This is a very pretty vintage sunset river scene landscape with two men fishing in a carved and painted frame.

I would estimate it dates circa 1930s.

The overall frame measures 19 inches wide by 16 inches high (48.3 cm x 40.6 cm). The painting measures 13 1/4 inches wide by 10 1/4 inches high (33.7 cm x 26 cm).

The painting is not on a stretcher. It looks like someone took it off the stretcher many years ago and folded the sides over. You can see this from the back of the frame.

It is signed in the bottom right corner but it\'s very hard to make out. Something like La??.

There is wear going around the outer edges of the painting, most notably in the bottom right section. Much of this gets covered up by the frame. I believe there is some old white paint film just above the man on the left. I\'m not exactly sure though what this is. There is a small area of missing paint in the upper right section where the canvas shows. The entire finish has crackling.

The frame is carved and painted. There is scattered wear and nicking to the finish, but it tends to blend in giving it a great look.

I reattached the painting to the frame using framing staples.

It weighs a touch over 2 pounds (920 g).
