Description

VINTAGE FOLK ART FISHING TROUT SIGN

Wonderful vintage hand made solid wood fishing lure or decoy sign measuring about 24" long, 8" tall and 1-1/2" thick. Painted in wonderful "rainbow" colors, Trout is depicted with ribbed fins and tail, open mouth, large eye and dotted decoration. Complete with two old eyebolts for hanging, condition is very nice with no cracks, chips, or damage - there is typical rubbing and paint wear, minor scuffing, the eyebolts are a bit rusty and some wear to the high points.

Just a wonderful large, visually striking old fishing Rainbow Trout fish - perfect as a sign which is how it has always been displayed. This belonged to my Brother, an avid fisherman - he had it hanging in his door arch at his home in Florida - I believe it dates to the 1970s, but am not positive. A large and striking fish - visually interesting with wonderful folk art appeal - fun addition to any collection or display!
