Roland Ward Taxidermy Silver Plated Lobster Claw Salad Servers c.1880

This is an exceptionally rare pair of silver plate salad servers with lobster claw handles by Roland Ward, circa 1880's. Stamped 'Ward & Co Naturalists 166 Picadilly'. These are possibly part of a service made by Ward for the Fisheries Exhibition in London 1883. These were admired by Edward VII while visiting his shop in Picadilly.

CONDITIONslight damage to the tips of one claw & slight denting of the collar in which the claw is seated on the same piece, the plating is in immaculate condition - as per images

The overall condition is as you would expect from an object of substantial age that has been displayed/handled/used, usually over the lifetimes of several owners.
