Rare HAAK\'S SPECKLED Trout Cigar BOX Great FLY FISHING, Field, & STREAM GRAPHICS

Its a super nice looking wooden hinged lid cigar box, the hinge is made of cloth.

Absolutely TONS of excellent looking litho graphics abound on the inside, outside, and 2 sides of this rare box.

An old dark blue 50 CENT tax stampwhich isseries of 1901 adorns the left had side, its about 90% complete and still very readable today.

Has an exceptional looking litho graphic on the insidewhich depicts an old school fly fisherman standing in a fast moving brook or stream with rapids whilecatching a fine looking speckledtrout. You can see his tent and camp setup in the background, quite extraordinary attention has been paid to detail in this fine innerlabel, one of the best I\'ve seen and the colors just POP !!!

This box is even complete with the colorful inner paper flap which is usually found to be torn away and/or missing from most.

The outer right side also has a smaller version of this graphic and the back side has another amazing and finely detailed graphic of the Haakfactory in Davenport, Iowa.

The fantastic looking colorful inner artwork was produced by the COLE LITHO CO in Chicago around the turn of the century and is printed on the lower edge of the inside label.

The FERD HACK Company of DAVENPORT, IOWA was the manufacturer of this box of cigars.

Davenport, Iowa was at one time the cigar capital of the Midwest having 34manufacturers in the early 1900s.

Cigars got their start here before the Civil War with entrepreneurs – mostly German immigrants – bringing tobacco in by rail in bales, boxes and barrels from southern Illinois, Wisconsin and Kentucky.

The Ferd Haak Co. was locatedin a big redstone building at 527 W. Fourth St. in Davenport - which is now the Tri-City Equipment Company.

About 8 inches x 5 inches x 2-1/4 inches and held 50 cigars as stamped on the bottom of the box.

Here is a link to some further info on the Davenport, IA cigar tradeand even a picture of this great cigar box residing in a private fine condition for an earlier 1900 era pre embargowooden cigar box, still strong construction, inner paper litho label has some darkening in spots but pretty complete withstunning fisherman graphics, cloth hingeis somewhat fragile but still pretty good and was strong enough to capture all these photos, some light warping to lid - see photos - THANKS !!!

Some typical imperfections & irregularities.

If you\'re a rare cigar box collector then you already know how scarce this one is - don\'t let it get away !!!
