Rare Chinese Porcelain Fish Bowl Planter – Tongzhi Mark, Hand-Painted:
$799.00

This exquisite Chinese porcelain fish bowl is a stunning example of late Qing-inspired artistry, featuring vibrant hand-painted scenes of red-crowned cranes, blooming peonies, and auspicious garden motifs. Set against a rich black background with multicolor enamels and highlighted with gilt detailing, the imagery symbolizes longevity, harmony, and prosperity.
The bowl is marked on the base with the Tongzhi reign mark (1862–1874), likely indicating a later homage piece in the Tongzhi style. The intricate border patterns—including ruyi heads, lotus scrolls, and fretwork—are hallmarks of the Famille Noir palette, a rare and highly collectible category in Chinese export porcelain.
This piece comes with an elegant carved wooden display stand, enhancing its presence as both a planter and statement decor.
