From Pottery_Mad sales ...
Unusual antique Austrian Cold Painted Bronze figurine of a Brook Trout, really nicely modelled and painted, mounted on an Onyx Pin Dish. Made c.1900-20. The Fish unscrews from the base and unusually it is signed underneath. It says 'Real Vienna Bronze, Brook Trout, J. Gadek'. J. Gadek is I believe a Hungarian bronze sculptor. The Dish measures 4.5"/11cm wide and the Trout measures 4"/10cm long.
This item is in good, vintage condition; there are some small edge chips to the onyx, and a little wear to the painting on the fish, as you would expect with age. The Fish has one screw to connect it to the Dish but there are 2 holes in the Dish - there is no sign of a missing screw on the fish and it screws in securely without moving on one fixing.
