Hello, here is a VERY RARE and well preserved Priscacara LiopsFish fossil with a neat fossil Coprolite or fossil TURD on its Tail! All in its 50 Million Year Old Green River Formation Matrix! This fossil was quarried in an extinct lake that is known as Fossil Lake in Lincoln County, Wyoming. It dates from the Eocene epoch a CRAZY 53.5 to 48.5 Million YEARS ago!Here's More Info....Fifty-million years ago an ancient Lake existed in what is now Southwest Wyoming, US. The unusual chemistry of the lake created conditions that prevented decay while alternating layers of limestone and organic matter accumulated. The resulting laminated limestone LAYERS contain the highest concentration of articulated fish fossils in the world....neat!
This fish fossil measures a Nice! 4 7/8" or 12.2cm at its biggest and the overall piece or matrix is 7 9/16" or 19.3cm at its biggest or from opposing side to side. Please note that a Display STAND is included.
