Description[与謝蕪村 Yosa Buson] 1716-1784A haiku poet and painter from the mid-Edo period.
People from Settsu.
His original surname was Taniguchi, but he later changed it to Yosa.
Buson is a haiku name.
Separate issue: Zaitori, Zaitori Yohantei, Shikoan.
Painting names, such as Shunxing, Shiming, Changgen, Xieyin, Chaocang, etc.
He went to Edo and became a disciple of the haiku poet Hayano Hato (Yohantei Soa).
After wandering around various countries, he settled in Kyoto and later took the name Yohantei II.
He exhibited a romantic and pictorial style of haiku, created new types of poems such as ``Spring Wind Horse Tsutsumikyoku,'' and played a central role in the Chuko haikai movement.
In painting, he is considered to be one of the masters of Japanese Nanga along with Taiga Ike.Reference period: Mid-Edo period
