- Rustic early hand-forged iron S hook, absolutely right and original. Purchased in Pennsylvania many decades ago -- I used these wonderful hooks to hang my copper cookware. Great rustic touch in a farmhouse decor, and I loved how it looked with my spun copper mixing bowls. I had quite a few of these, and this one just surfaced in my garage where it hung on a nail in a secluded spot.
- Definitely needs a wire brush treatment to loosen the surface rust. You can oil to bring back the forged black look (used motor oil works surprisingly well, as does WD40). Arthritis has flared up, and I can\'t do it myself right now. This would work quite well in a walk in fireplace too, as well as in a garden setting for a big and heavy hanging pot. Even a cast iron gypsy pot would hang safely from it
- Measures 4-1/4\" total length, 2x2-1/4\" large end. Just under 1/4\" thick. No cracks, splits, just surface pitting. See for yourself!
