A very early 26-piece 830 sterling silver fish service for twelve, complete with a matching serving set, in the Georg Jensen silverware pattern #55. Designed by Georg Jensen around 1914, the handles feature two entwined fish and a hand-chased shell motif at the finial. The serving pieces are intricately decorated with hand-cut and chased flowers, allowing fish juices to drain effectively. This Art Nouveau design is both beautiful and functional, making it highly sought after. Housed in its original leather box from the date of purchase, this set is a rare and prized collector's item. The set includes 12 fish knives, 12 fish forks, and a large 2-piece serving set, all contained in a fitted leather case dating from Fish knives: 8 1/8" (20.8 cm), Fish forks: 7 3/8" (18.5 cm), Fish serving slice: 10 3/4" (27.3 cm), Fish serving fork: 10" (25.2 cm)
Hallmarks: Georg Jensen hallmarks from 1915-1927 830s Georg Jensen, #170 on the fork, and #55 on the servers. The "170" is an old design number, indicating the set was likely made close to 1915. Additional import hallmarks to Sweden
The original leather box is in good condition considering its age, though it shows some signs of wear.
