Inventory : 53Y6495835This is an interesting bust honoring the majestic bear. It composes the bear so that it's essence is intwined with that of nature; of the fallen trees, of the water-smoothed pebbles it's paws carry over, of the river. It shows the bear having just catched a fish that wriggles hopelessly in it's jaws. The wet fur of the bear, runs down in his neck in an abstract melt into the trunk of a tree, showing it's integration to it's natural domain. The symbolic beliefs of the bear totem signifies primal power, motherhood, cunning, healing, gentle strength, dreaming, sovereignty, intuition married with instinct, nurture and protection. The handmade bronze sculpture was cast using the ancient method of lost-wax casting and stained with a brown patina finish for conservation. It is mounted upon a black marble base with the European Finery Stamp of quality and the artist Milo's signature.The artist Milo lived most of his childhood in Andalusia, Spain. Influenced by an artistic family background, he began sculpting at the age of seventeen. After apprenticing with several accomplished sculptors both in America and Spain, he began his own work focusing equally on steel and bronze.
