These is a carefully hand carved river sculptures from wood Crafted by Bozo artisans in Mali , and then antiqued through an underground smoking process. The sculptures are miniature renditions of Sogo Bo masquerade puppets used in ceremonies. The Bozo people are known as "masters of the river" and their culture and artwork centers around their interaction with the Niger River. The mask is on a stand.
