Antique Hooked Rug, United States, 1940 — Every element in this hooked rug border is sewn in a deep, rich Navy Blue with smaller, lighter lines throughout that create the illusion of a wooden surface. Winding buttermilk yellow and ruby red lines flow within and around each other, framing a sandy background that itself gives way to a diamond-shaped flow of fiery red flowers, with the base of their flow originating at every cardinal direction.
