Antique 1920's bass drum, hand painted front with light kit. J.W. York & Sons:
$800.00

This very unusual Bass Drum was made by J.W. York & Sons who were located in Grand Rapids Michigan prior to 1928. It measures 28.5" across and 15 3/4" deep. Calf skin on back is busted. There is a windmill scene painted on front and light kit installed. The light kit wiring appears very old and worn, and will need to be replaced. This is a real conversation piece. The sticker inside indicates the Company name as J.W. York and Sons and that name was not used after 1928, based on the York Loyalist research site, whose site can be accessed at the address below.
