ANTIQUE FOLK ART EARLY 20TH CENTURY GAFF RIG SHIP MODEL
Originally found as a weather beaten hull with broken masts, no rigging.Hull carved and hollowed from single piece, with age cracks.
Restoration included stem piece, bow sprit, hatch covers, rudder, masts, booms, rigging, stern davits and boat.Mast hoops in place so that sails could be easily added. I will provide enough linen material for a set of sails.
I thought this would display nicely with minimal restoration to the hull; no new paint.There is some separation from age / shrinkage on the fore and aft decks.Each side is markedly different as shown in the photos.The second and third photos show the finished stand, all other photos show the working stand.
approx. 42-1/2 x 27-1/2 x 10. With the stand, almost 29 high.
