A RARE TO FIND old Eskimo FISH HOOK from a museum deaquisition THAT HAD MOSTLY pre-1600 MATERIAL. BECAUSE OF THESE BEADS THIS PIECE LOOKS TO BE FROM THE EARLY HISTORIC PERIOD UNLESS THE BEADS WERE ADDED LATER ONCE THE PIECE WAS FOUND??It has etched designs on the caribou bone with tiny beads inserted into the bone. The hook is possibly bronze and has significant oxidation. It is held on with thick and old sinew.
