800 German Silver Fish Knife w/ Nobility 9 Pearl Crown and Initial Engraving:
$24.99
This is a very unique German silver fish knife from between 1867 - 1905. I have been unable to find out much about this particular piece, but it appears to use the \"crown\" and \"crescent moon\" hallmarks along with the \"800\" mark, although the crescent moon is horizontal and not vertical like most, so I believe this to be created by Pausch & Pohl in Berlin between 1867 and 1905. The design features a saddle and jockey style hat.
The 9-point (pearl) crown (or coronet) is commonly the style worn or used to symbolize nobility with the similar title of Count, Earl, or Graf. Being German silver, I believe this is a fish knife that was owned by nobility during periods of the German Monarchy. The initials \"AF\" are also engraved under the crown.
The knife weighs 146.76 grams and is 9.5\" long. I have not tested the blade for silver content, but believe only the weighted handle is 800 German silver. The German silver over the weight does have some damage and peeling in some spots. The weight is cracked and the rear portion of the handle is slightly loose from the other half, but far from coming apart.
