Oil on canvas mounted to heavy artist’s board

Circa 1920s - 1930s

Signed with his stylized boxed signature at lower left “ToM Wilder”; signed and inscribed in pencil on the reverse, “Tom Wilder—Ravinia, Ill., Stream in the Southern Mountains, 22.00”

Approx. 14” x 12”

In excellent, attractive condition, with no losses or restorations

About the artist: Wilder, born in Coldwater, Michigan, studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and moved to Ravinia, Illinois in 1906. He later worked in New Hampshire and in Gloucester, Massachusetts. A commercial artist by trade (including a twenty-year stint as an illustrator at Motor Age magazine, Wilder was a member of the North Shore Art League and Lake County Art League. His works were exhibited at the Art Institute of Chicago.
