February is a cold time in Utah. Snow, winds, most days with temperatures below 20 and little hope of fishing.
When the weather was scheduled to break, a window opened for a friend and me to slip out for half a day in sunny, 45 degree weather. We found a completely deserted fishery with little ice around the edges (its quick fall usually keeps it open). While the catching was spotty, we did manage fish (about a 15" brown shown), very tame desert bighorn sheep, and great small stream angling. Looking forward to the next trip here, worth taking a day off work.
