    Hit the Jack Pot!

    This year I gained access to some fantastic new water!

    Ever since I read a classic fishing book by Danish author Svend Saabye as a kid I have dreamt about fishing the stream the author describes in his book. The stream was of course never mentioned by name, but hints were given. Finally I managed to find out which stream it was and to look up one of the guys in the small private club thas has had the fishing rights since the 1950's. Long story short, I managed to wangle me an invitation and am now a member of the exclusive group of only ten individuals who have had access to this five mile stretch of stream the last 65 years.

    First trip to the stream was in the middle of the Ephemera Danica season and upon arriving at the stretch of water I spotted three 20+ inch fish rising the the big mayflies. Several trips later it really does seem like this is dream water that's not going to let me down. Now I just need to find a way to not fish the water every single day. I think one of the reasons why a particular stretch of stream can be this good is because very few people fish it, and I think overdoing it can ruin it.

    Seeing fish that size rise to dry flies is unlike anything else. Great sleuth work finding the location! Days and fish you won't forget.
