Greetings from an old curmudgeon

I have been fly fishing, originally whether I wanted to or not, since I was a toddler. 55 years latter I am still struggling with it, with little progress. I am working on a book of humorous stories about my fishing disasters, some of which I have just posted.

I have a 14 year old daughter who loves fishing with her poor old father. I give her tackle with her name on it: Richard Wheatly fly boxes, rods etc and she shows the stuff to her pals and gets them interested.

My wife will not fish at all period, but is amazingly indulgent about fishing widowhood.

I love small streams: they are often the most beautiful, hardest to reach and difficult to fish. So are all precious gems.
