Thread: A new steed.

    A new steed.

My buddy rides to work every day he can and his trusty Giant VT one has been his daily commuter bike. He ended up getting a newer Santa Cruz Blur and made me an offer on his VT that I absolutely could not refuse.

    Bike build

    Frame: 2004 Giant VT one
    Front Shock: Psylo (just rebuilt)
    Rear Shock: Fox Float RP2
    Stem: Big Al Titec
    Bars: Titec
    Breaks: Avid Juicy Seven
    Cranks: Raseface Turbine
    Pedals: Diamond
    Front Shifter: XT
    Rear Shifter Sram X-9
    Wheels: Mavic Crossmax XL Tubeless
    Tires: Michelin Advanced TRC Tubeless
    Post: Ritchey
    Saddle: WTB

He had the bike fully serviced and a new cassette installed on it last week so this thing was ready to go! We rode his route to work because he had to get something from the office....what a great ride twice a day! His route takes him over this ridge and through some trails to down town.

It was raining and snowing off and on so the bikes got a well deserved bath.

We have already planned a trip down the Middle Fork of the Willamette...30mi downhill with limited access other than by the trail, as well as the North fork of the Umpqua and Mackinze river trail. I am already trying to figure how to mount my 3/4 wt to the bike. :)

    I am one happy camper!

I've been thinking about one of those to access some streams in CO.....I may be too old and brittle for bouncing down a trail these days, though. You have the look of a cat that just ate the canary. Good stuff.

    I rode today, super tired.

I have about 20 miles on it so far and I dig it.

I had a Trek 8000 before with Rolf "Vector" wheels.

My 29er is TALL, but it is smooth. Stick it down in 1st gear and I can climb pretty steep stuff. Lock out the fork and I'm peddlin round the mountain.

    Love mountain biking.

Nice bike...I love mountain biking as well, even more this past year. There are some great trails to access small water around here that I fully intend to explore next year!
