    Opening weekend

The trout season for all the little "type 1 and type 2" creeks and streams just opened up last weekend. We hit up a few different places and even found a good midge hatch on one of the creeks:

We had nice weather, beautiful streams, and even prettier fish.

    Some native flora, "dutchmans breeches."

    Some nice bows.

A bridge overlooking a creek. Thought it was a cool shot.

    Koolaid and a stogie.

Love your guy's posts on here.

I enjoyed your opening day. Looks like a great time. Looks like your dutchman's breeches is a slightly different species than what we have down here. I'll have to look into that. Thanks for taking us along (although I'll have to pass on the stogie and the kool-aid.) ;-)

Holland...I have a lot of crazy memories from Holland as a Hope College grad, lived there for 7 years. Spent too many hours on piers the fishing for perch and/or whatever was running up into Lake Mac.

Cut my teeth fishing for browns on McCoys Creek.
