I can't remember a NY opener with better fishing conditions. Air temp was around 65F plus or minus, and water temp was averaged at about 45F. I fished both my fly and tenkara rod. Most trout were caught on top with a #14 gray haystack.

Terry that looks awesome! I am going to be staying with my friend in New York for a month this summer and I was hoping to get into some brookie streams. Any suggestions?
Very Nice!
Haystack, a good little fly. Reminds me, I need to tie some.
Your NY brookies look like our CT brookies. :)
Never get tired of looking at those beautiful fish.
Have a safe and enjoyable season.
