Fishing with Aldo Leopold
In the June essay of Aldo Leopold's Sand County Almanac (a book that has an immense influence on me over the years) is a short piece on fishing for brook trout in Northern Wisconsin called: The Alder Fork--A Fishing Idyll.
Like Hemingway's "Big Two-Hearted River" folks have speculated for years what could be the Alder Fork's actual name and location. While perusing the Wisconsin Fly Fishing Board today I found a post that was pure gold for a guy that grew up admiring Aldo and his works. It includes a short film clip, a link to a blog post and a link to Aldo's actual journal. I figure some of you may be Aldo fan's yourself and may not have seen this. Great stuff and it is good to know he burned pancakes leaving the middle uncooked on the campfires, too.
The Journal Entries
And Stephen Laubach's Blog Post
