So...I'm fishing along this small stream that I haunt picking up fish anywhere from 4-10". I picked up a really nice 13 inch fish and very happily thought that was going to be fish of the day. I move along and flick my mini-hopper next to a large boulder in a pool no bigger than a dining room table. This mammoth head breaks the surface and it's game on. The fight is short because the fish is too big to run, jump, or maneuver. I took a quick photo for posterity and let him head back to his home. I sat for a while and waited for my hands and legs to stop shaking. I will never again judge a stream by its size. He was an old boy and I was happy he came out to play.
