Aloha, school starts tomorrow. I have to attend two days of stupid meetings. I would rather take a bullet to the head than to sit in a stupid meeting. So I went fishing with the dog yesterday and got this little papio. I hooked two bones, but one wrapped the reel, and the other one came unbuttoned after a couple of nice runs.
So today I went fishing with Adam Trahan from Phoenix AZ. He is the founder of smallstreams.com a web page I would post stories on. Adam and I have known each other for 20 years but finally met face to face today. Adam is staying in waikaloa and trying to get in some bonefishing while on vacation.
I got this one in the morning and some various reef fish. I got smoked by 6 surgeon fish, that is why I call them impossibles. It was good fun on my 6wt BVK rood. Adam had to leave for the days activities, and I got another bone on my own.
This one was a little smaller, but the fight was hilarious. It ran under a stand up paddleboarder who could not control his craft, then under two kayaks and then scared three swimmers out of the water who thought it was a shark. I got some good under water shots, but you never know how they will come out.
