    big island bones

Aloha, been catching some nice bones lately, must be the full moon. Got this one in kona over the weekend and got a nice one yesterday in Hilo. The ono are starting to show up off shore, so spring has come early. Hope you all have a good start to 2015, Mems.

Yep we get Yellow Tails here. We call them Kingfish or Kingis.

Have been trying to get to grips with a small one [Rat] on my Eight Weight Redington.

So Far. One Wrap around the reel "SNAP" Two other Temporary Hook Ups. One almost to hand

Buddy Reached for the tail missed and it was off.

Still Trying and having a lot of fun. NEXT TIME!!!

Hey Jax, don't give up. I got one in San Diego on a kayak. I was fishing a chartreuse/white clouser in the kelp patties at la Jolla, and a nice 6lber hit and took the kayak for a ride. The guy I was with got all excited and kept it for dinner. I asked how many he normally catches, and he said just a coule per summer. Beginners luck I guess. They look like rainbow runners we have here in hawaii. All the jacks are good fighters. Louie the fish keeps trying to get me to come down to NZ. If I do I will look you up, Mems.
