After a winter of record snowpack here in Colorado the mountains are finally becoming accessible for backcountry travels, at least for the central and southern mountains. I've heard reports that the northern mountains; i.e. Zirkles and Rawahs , still have significant snowpack.
My first trip was to Red Mountain SWA in the western half of the state. No fish but a good hike with nice scenery. Even without catching anything it's always nice to get out.
Calypso Orchids
Red Columbine
Next trip was just a day hike to one of the front range lakes. I was able to get out mid-week before the holiday crowds swamped the trail.
