I liked the statement Ernest made, "it's who I am" I am also from trout country, I learnt to fish and swim in our local streams , I left trout country for 13 years for work which left a hole that no salt water estuary fishing could fill. It wasn't the fishing that I missed, it was the connection. When I came back I took my son down to the river for a walk and immediately the smell of wet riverbank dirt and and waterlogged sticks and the sweet sound of fresh water bubbling down over the smooth stones on the stream bed came rushing into my soul filling a void that had been left , then I saw a plump little brown rise to gulp down a caddis. Just like Ernest says " it's who I am" .
