that's a fine tie roy! i really like the wings upright position and i'm sure it imitates an emerger very well. that's a unique style.

Nice fly Roy, are they Starling, Blackbird or Duck wings? they look a bit like Starling but am probably wrong.

Starling is what is usually used for the wings !!!!!!!!!

Thanks Alpinefly, am trying to find a Greenwell's Glory pattern; and that the wings are Starling makes it easier to guess the rest of it by the picture.

Thanks, guys,
this fly is tied in what I think is the original form.
The recipe is the original, tied on a hook which may match the shape of the original -
yellow silk, heavily treated in black wax,
coch-y-bondhu hackle,
blackbird(female secondary) wing, starling is a recognised substitute,
I have added a rib as that is the standard variant, where it was not on the original.
This fly works almost everywhere for trout.
