Thread: Fishing w/ Hydration Pack?

    Unhappy Fishing w/ Hydration Pack?

Anybody bring a hydration pack along during your fishing outings?
I don't all that often, but do own a small one (50 Ounce Camelbak) for those really hot summer days.

Saw this new type of pack I'm intrigued by - you don't suck the water out, it squirts out.
May be overkill, but thought it was kinda cool, was wondering if anyone has actually seen or used one in person?
    Yes...I have a gear addiction.

Haven't used the one you're linking to, but I'm intriqued! I have a hydration pack for my FishPond Double Haul backpack which I've used a couple of times. It's pretty unreliable and diffucult to get water out of, so I'm also interested in an alternative. The design on this one looks very interesting! I think the main problem with these things is that they're difficult to keep clean; they smell bad after a couple of uses..

That last point (tough to clean) I agree with. That's one of the reasons I only use water in my pack. I haven't had odor issues, but I don't use my pack religiously either.

    Re: Fishing w/ Hydration Pack?

Sure, I too can carry all the water I need for a days fishing in bottles, flasks, boxes or whatever... But there's a theoretic convenience with hydration packs that's appealing to me. I mean - I need a lot to drink when fishing an entire day in rough terrain and thus need to release my chestpack from the backpack, get a bottle out and then put everything back on lots of times during such a day. I find that really annoying actually. So that's my reason for looking into the perfect hydration pack solution.
