    Small Wild and Wonderful!

I very often look at the stories, reports and photos, that you guys post on the small streams forum; and it sometimes amazes me to see some of the beautiful places you get to fish, I am also in awe of the expanse of country-side that you guys have to roam around, then there's so many gorgeous streams, not to mention the variety of wild life you get to see! But, you know that old saying "The Grass is Always Greener on the Other Side" I sometimes look at your wonderful pictures, read your stories; and just long to be there with you - it looks so inviting!!

Then I go fishing, I think of that old saying; and I realise what I have right here on my door-step, close to home and available anytime I feel like getting out there. I sometimes wonder why we don't appreciate what we have right under our nose? What a gift! I thank God for it every day!

I'm quite contented now; feel as though I've been blessed to have such beautiful country-side so close to home.

I appreciate whenever I can get to a trout stream or river since the nearest one is over an hour and a half away. I do have a small bluegill lake within a mile, however, so at least I get to fish regularly.

Looks a lovely place. I agree totally that it is one of lives great pleasures to fish in new beautiful places I fish a good number of lovely rivers, But I have one less than a mile from my door that isnt the best but it is always there. I have known it for over 40 years and means a great deal to me... I have watched sea trout take the weirs and otters play and even caught the odd fish .. I reckon I know every pool and twist and turn. I try to start and end every season with a fish in that beck and love to invite guests to share the pleasure with me..

Good post. I makes one think of what he has. I guess that is why they call it "home" waters. No matter the places I travel, there is nothing like returning home.

Well,....the grass looks much greener in your place to me.
I have to drive at least an hour and a half to fish trout.
