Thread: Seneca Rocks

    Seneca Rocks

Was on Seneca Creek last weekend. Unfortunately, it's got Didymo.

I boiled some water and put some dish soap in it. I had my felt boots submerged in it for over 45 minutes. When I pulled them out to dry, I put in my waders for another 1/2 hour.

Do you think what I've done is enough?

    I think you did fine.
I read just air drying for at least 48 hours can be sufficient.
A diluted spray of bleach helps.

Since you won't post Pics,I will....

    Truly amazing!

So the Didymo-infection of the creek doesn't affect the fishing, or?

    Re: Seneca Rocks

    Martin,
The dreaded Didymo was found at the confluence of Whites Run and Seneca.
Axle noticed it in the lower section of Seneca below Whites, but there was still good flyfishing to be had.
It's there, but not like some bad infestations you could have.

As we progressed further up in,it was not present,or prevalent thank goodness!

I sure hope the DNR/EPA can come up with a good eradication program.
I hope with research, they find a chemical or compound that is tolerable to trout, but devastating to Didymo to employ.

    I keep hoping.

    Cheers mates,Stix. ;)

Man--I'd like to fish the pool below those falls.
    Nice shot of the rocks.
I've climbed there a couple of times.
Watched a guy 'ground out' one day.
    Weren't pretty--sure wish I was fishing instead.
