    Ephemera Danica in Denmark

First reports of good Mayfly hatches arrived a few days ago, and having finished a weekend of being the sole parent in the house hold, the wife came back from a trip to the City Sunday afternoon, and off I went to a nearby stream.

Having lived in an urbane part of the country for the past 13 years, fishing the few trout streams available, I now find my self living in the heart of the main country. Thus, it had been quite a while since I'd seen the magnificent Ephemera Danica. Watching the dancing spinners along the road to the stream put my heart rate up a bit. Arriving at the stream side the car was instantly covered with hundreds of spinners - I was quite in shock!

Turned out you couldn't see the amount of flies on the car, and this is just a few shots that turned out ok:

A shot of the stream. The ranunculus is starting to blossom - a bit late due to the hard winter:

And the two only fish that came to hand. Lots of flies on the water, but the fish weren't on to them - yet?

Ho Mostyn. I'm great, thanks! Loving the life in the main country immensely!

About my visit to wales. Thing is, I have just got a new job which means I won't be going to the annual conference in Wales this August as planned. The one taking over from me will come over to Cardiff instead, but I don't think he's a fisherman ;)
The wife has promised me that my annual trip to Wales can still happen though, just don't know the exact details yet.
