Pike Flies

Trout season has started over here but the rivers have been out of sorts almost since day one.
So... to rid the shack nasties I tied up some flies and went chasing Pike.

This is a Roach imitation type of deal and worked really well for us.


And a Perch fly I've not used yet but am hoping works as well.


Both flies are on Mustad Big Gun bait hooks #1/0 and are tied with EP Fibres, following Enrico Puglisi's Peanut Butter pattern and just swapping the colours around.

And the result.


Horrible weather but a good day out.

Stunning flies Jim! The Perch is amazing... assume you add the markings after the main body is prepared?

Yeah just tie it all in (there's a free video sbs on the epflies website) and trim to shape then colour it off the vice.... on a pad of paper if you don't want the tying desk messed up.
