Roy, I didn't realize you were a famous fly tyer. Do you have a book?

I will be trying one of your flies soon. I am a beginner so it might be a little out of my league, but what the heck I have nothing to lose.

haha, Famous on the internet, all it takes, terry, is a big gob and an internet PC.
On the bright side I do try to offer something artistic and refreshing. I just post now and again to make sure folks knw I'm still around.
As to books, I have many, mainly by Skues, Malone, Hanna, Marinaro, Schollmeyer & Leeson, Galloup, the creative folks.
Haven't written one yet as I haven't got a helluva lot to say except that I agree with Mr. Skues 99.99999999 percent and I try to ensure that I step on nobody's toes, in fact I only came out of hiding about ten years ago when I got back into fishing regularly as my kids grew up. The world was catching me up by then, after a 20 year gap, so I did some new stuff to impress.. as if
I do have a few concepts of my own but they are readily available online.
Maybe when I learn a bit more about this fishing stuff, I'll write.
I need to get out and fish more to learn.

Do try tying the reversed parachute; it is nowhere as complex as it appears. Read the step-by-step twice, then tie one using the steps as a guide
I did a club show a few years back and the guys were tying my stuff as I proceeded, the prize for the evening was all the flies I tied.
They were won by one of the newest tyers, the instructors couldn't get the technical crud they had learned out of their heads.
It's an easy tie, just follow the instructions and remember to support the hook when pulling the nylon home to finish, pull/cut out the excess hackle, check that loop again, tension, then cut off.
Let me know of any probs & I'll sort them out.

    Roy

edit: I do of course get something back for my 'fame'
I get invites to many lovely places on our planet and get to meet some lovely folks, my efforts being almost exclusively charitable.

I'm working on actually breaking even

If you watch where it lands when you cast it, you will know where it is.

    As to cool, I thank you;
    I describe it as durable.
