    Maldives Islands - Indian Ocean

Spread over 90,000 square kilometres and formed by a double-chain of 26 atolls makes the Maldives one of the most contrasting countries on earth. It boasts 1,192 islets with only 200 being inhabited – what more can an exploring saltwater fly fisherman ask for?

The majority of wildlife on the uninhabited islands does not know humans...so tread carefully...

A sand spit in the middle of the ocean...the possibilities are endless...

Miles and miles of undisturbed flats...

    The fishing...awesome...

We even found bonito on the flats...

Plenty of tasty snapper off the back of the boat...

    Last cast...

"The fishing was so good I thought I was there yesterday."

Aloha Gerard, did you eat the pacific threadfin? We call them moi in Hawaii and they are the best tasting salt water fish by far. Nice photos, it is cool to see all the trevally we have here hang out in the Indian Ocean as well. Mems.

Nope, I've never tasted threadfin, but am keen to give it a try after reading your reply. :bigthumb: One thing I really like is grilled dogtooth tuna, quickly sealed on an open flame keeping the juices inside - MMMmmmmm
