    "Salters"

This is a stream I've fished a few times.

A beautiful and fragile searun brook trout stream.

Its located on Cape Cod, Mass.

    Please enjoy,

    Salter brook trout,

Do these guys hit dries as readily as pure freshwater Brookies? I will be on the cape for 4 days in late August and am hoping to cross these beauties off the list. Thanks!

Hope you get back up to the Cape soon B.T.
When I'm on vacation this fall, I'm checking out a sea run brown stream in New Hampshire and then it's onto the Adirondacks for the rest of the trip.

    jay,

As many times as I have fished for salters, the #1 flies have been small streamers, size 10's, Mickey Finns, Edson Tigers, McKay Specials.
Last fall when I fished the stream, I used dries, and they did work OK. Haystacks worked very well, as did Bombers.
    They are special fish.

    AT,

Hopefully I'll fish the Cape the last week of September, or October.
You should have a good time fishing the ADK's, especially in the fall.

We have to team up some Sunday afternoon, evening. On that small stream of James Prosek.

VERY cool. Our neighbor was raised in Bahsten, and is flying to her family place on the Cape this evening... I've never been interested in the area... until now... ;)

Oh - and this thread is a perfect example of one that would fit in so well for the front page... but won't ever be there. Some of our smallstreams secrets are best kept un-public.
