I had my first chance to fish the salt this year, thanks to my wife. My guide was fantastic and I had a pretty amazing day.

My first striper, at 6:15am, my first time fishing in salt water. The day is complete and I'm just getting started. Caught this guy blind casting to a rocky island.
Other than those NASTY salt water mosquitoes (ADK Skitters don't have ANYTHING on these guys), I was happy as a clam (pun).

Already feeling better about the day than my last guided trip, I made a few casts and we moved on to a flat, where Mark (My Guide) set about hunting and spotting stripers. One big splash and we knew where to go.

On the other end of the line, taking me fast into the backing and wrapping me around a buoy (which we were able to get unwrapped from)

Water was 3 feet deep...

Decided since the wind was low we'd head out to open water to fish the shoreline.

I turned green quick in the several foot swells so we jetted back in shore to a different flat section...
