It ain't over till it's over . . . 6'' snow at the house this afternoon . . . 10"+ on the Chatanika . . . breaking ice to get out to the water. It's over. Thanks for the screen saver this winter . . . as close as i'll get to grayling for another season.
Re: Autumn, dry fly, grayling
That is one of the prettiest streams I've seen in a long time. Great looking water and nice fish. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful photos.
I love the Medalist reel. It takes me back a spell. Your choice of a fly box is great too.
Thanks,

I fish this stream only few times, and only a small open part, which I like to fish with dry flies

I did not catch bigger than this,

But they fight well

And go back

I fished until this gate ,made by water

upstream it look like this...to narrow, hard to go on

Anyway I heard, that over this narrow part, it is another open one, and the Graylings are bigger, so I will go there, someday

I don't know, I never fished a wild Brook Trout , they are not native fish in Romania here are only Brown Trouts and Graylings.
Anyway I heard about Brookies , they are very brutal, great fighters , Grayling fight well too, even twisting sometimes, but what is special for me is the unique way that Graylings take a dry fly.
They rise like in a slow motion movie, very discreet some peoples call them "Shadows". To see they rise is my favourite moments in Graylings fishing.
