Weekend Sno-Fly IX Update
Meee thinks the UK Postal Donkeys like our watering holes (hmmmmmmm , they have good booze over there too). Roy had the same problem last year. He ended up tying three sets of Midges. The first set he had tied remained forever lost. Two sets arrived, and we all enjoyed Roy's Midges !!! Andy texted me and said that he has tied an extra set and put them in the post.
I think Andy's first set probably will remain lost (Thanks to UK Postal or even Customs). I don't know what happens, since this is the second time with the UK Postal that this has happened. It may even get lost in Customs, or some Fly Fisherman in Customs or UK Postal sees the name of Roy Christi (or now even Andy Baird) and figure they are going to hork some quality flies, head to the nearest chalk...............and............goooooooooooooo o fishing !!! Well.........we all are getting an extended Christmas here. For a lot of you in the UK (this may be good advise everywhere else as well), you may want to get a tracking number on all packages sent out of the UK. We are getting Postal cuts here in the US, and talks of them shutting down the main Post Office (Cherrybell) here in Tucson which would move everything up to Phoenix and cause much trouble (delayed mail, and even lost mail). We have several Post Offices here in Tucson, but Cherrybell is the Main sorting center and where all mail gets set from and arrives to. For a lot who depend on Social Security Checks (and other important mail) that arrive at a set time, to close down the central Office and move it all the way up to Phoenix would be a major disaster (sp) !!! A long weekend (with Martin Luther King Day on Monday). Nice day today, and I wish I could go out fishing.
