PS. Me to loving the Danielsson Nymph Chalkstream! Very drool-worthy!
Thanks guys, glad you like the pics (and the reel :D ). The Danielssons are slowly replacing all my reels for trout and Grayling as and when I can afford them. No drag, just simple and light and - most importantly - uncomplicated. Too many other reels weigh a ton to give you a drag that could stop a Permit... not really what you need on a 3 weight!!
Kurt - cheers ;) That day on the Meon really recharged my batteries and I have very fond memories of that shiny Grayling. I think of them as a freshwater Bonefish!! :bigthumb:
On the reel note, drag is as drag does... I love palming the bottom of a screaming loop... a silent scream when compared to the noise of most reels... I've landed plenty of steelhead on my Traditional 2 and 2W... and the occasional chinook/king (like hooking a submarine...) as well.
Here's another wild brown trout , caught in Herefordshire.
3lb est weight.
19" nose to fork, 22 " overall.
Taken on a size 14 para Adams.
