The Trout season has just opened on the streams of the Cape Piscatorial Society here in South Africa. It's been a relatively dry winter with the real rain only arriving fairly recently.

While this should mean well conditioned (and fairly fat) from our streams, it also has meant high water levels at a temperature that makes wading deeper that mid-thigh a rather uncomfortable proposition.
