Started out the day with a nice little rainbow and looking for big ahi.

Got one mahi on the troll and then went to a buoy and got this one on a popper on spin gear. It as a good fight. Picked up some small ahi and put out an aku for a big boy. No hits on the aku so we headed in.

The water was flat and the winds calm. It was a nice day on the water.

Big ahi are fun, but mahi on light gear are a blast as well. Lots of good panko mahi for dinner tonight. Mems

Two thumbs up.

How often do you have fish for dinner? Or maybe the better questions would be how often do you not have fish for dinner?

It is sad, we got a little sick of big ahi steaks last week. I have fish 5 out of 7 nights normally during the summer. I then have a steak or chicken the other two nights. My cats eat more sashimi in one week than most people do in a year. I have lots of recipes to keep it interesting. Last night it was spicy ahi poke and mahi tempura with sweet chili sauce. Remember when Chef used to post on this site. It was fun exchanging recipes with him. Hope you get some fresh fish in Kansas. Don.
