We recently bought and moved to a house near Healesville, Victoria, Australia that has the tiny Badger Creek running along near the back fence. There's a deepish slow moving pool with plenty of snags directly out the back. A few evenings ago, I flipped a Berkley Nymph on a light spin rod and after the third cast caught a fat fourteen inch native river blackfish -- a monster. After admiring this fish I quickly released it. Sorry, no pics--my camera still hasn't surfaced after the move. I usually fly fish but my knee got a little twisted in the move, so I was sitting and doing "lazy boy fishing" as my wife calls it. I've since waded up the creek sans fly rod and it looks very promising with shallow runs that run into small pools. Fishing in my backyard. Life can be kind sometimes!
Cheers,

Steve.
